Located in Hertfordshire, England, Stevenage is located to the north of central London. Over the last century, its population has seen a significant growth. Designed as a new town under the New Towns Act of 1946, Stevenage is a town that was the birthplace of many notable people, such as Sir Thomas Clarke, Alex Pettyfer, and Nicolas Hamilton. It is home to a small community arts centre located in the Roaring Meg Retail Park, as well as a number of art galleries and museums. It also has a basketball team: Stevenage Scorpions.
