Often referred to as MK, Milton Keynes is a large town in Buckinghamshire, located to the north-west of London. It is one of the new towns designated by the British government in the 1960s. The urban design of Milton Keynes is incredibly modern and practical, leading to many praising it as very efficient. Only the central business district has high-rise buildings, leading to the nickname “city in the forest”, since most buildings are shorter than the trees. MK is also home to the open air National Balls which is a very large venue for large-scale events.
